Our mission at EFL is to help parents and students fill in the gaps in learning that can be created through our educational system due to the uniqueness of every child, teacher, and learning environment. We have purposed to not only help students achieve and maintain grade level learning but also to excel in preparation for future academic demands. in addition, we have made it our mission to see significant gains in closing the learning gap for students who are struggling as well as those in need of the most intensive help and interventions.

Our vision at EFL is to provide such a level of excellence and effectiveness in helping children reach their educational goals and benchmarks, develop confidence and self-esteem, and even build character that parents and schools will gladly consider us a valued resource to the community. We at EFL believe that every child is important and should be treated as much as possible as if they were the only child in the room. EFL is based and provides service in Tampa, but through partnership with Firm Foundation Christian Fellowship we are now in a position to expand our services to the Riverview area. Our expanded vision is to serve not only the Tampa, Riverview areas but additional areas as well filling in the gaps and meeting the educational needs of parents and students within those areas as we grow.

The birth of EFL unofficially began in 2003 by helping parents with children who were struggling to keep up in school. Teaching full-time in the public school system with extra time available placed us in a position to give assistance to parents who didn’t know what else to do to help their child. Word-of-mouth began to spread as students who had significant issues academically began to show significant gains in ability, understanding and comprehension, and improvement of test scores. As a consequence our numbers began to grow also. However, because we were mostly a spare time service to the community and not an official business; life, educational pursuits, as well as other projects and the time restraints they posed caused us to set aside educational assistance. Nevertheless, EFL is now official and ready to meet the needs of old and new clients alike.
